STUDENT SERVICES DEPARTMENT
Applicants should possess a good local knowledge of the area and be able to work under pressure to tight deadlines. The ability to work with various
computer software packages to include a computerised accounting system is preferable.
Responsibilities will include assisting foreign students with general enquiries; allocating international students to local homestay families and dealing with welfare issues; arranging and booking social and sports activities; operating a switchboard and handling daily cash transactions. A willingness to undertake evening and weekend duties is essential. These posts will commence at the end of May and at present will terminate in August.
ANGLO-CONTINENTAL SCHOOL FOR YOUNG LEARNERS
We require Activity Assistants from late June / early July to mid-August to oversee the careful supervision of young, foreign students participating in a scheduled programme of sports, leisure activities and coach excursions. The work is rewarding but demanding in terms of energy and enthusiasm. The working week is from Monday to Saturday and also includes two evenings per week.
TEACHERS FOR NON-RESIDENTIAL ADULT COURSES TO INCLUDE BUSINESS/SPECIALISED AND EXECUTIVE PROGRAMMES
We are looking for enthusiastic teachers with recognised qualifications in TEFL for posts starting in June/July and finishing August/September 2008. The contracts are normally for either 25 or 30 teaching periods per week, although there are normally plenty of opportunities for overtime teaching. Classes would normally take place between 08.45 and 13.15 hours and voluntary overtime teaching would take place between 14.00 and 15.30 hours three days during the week. The classes are multi-national and the maximum class size is 15. However, on our Executive Programmes, students are normally taught on a one-to-one basis or in very small groups. The basic weekly salary for 25 teaching periods will range from £237.50 to £333.00 depending upon qualifications and experience.
TEACHERS FOR NON-RESIDENTIAL YOUNG LEARNER COURSES
FOR STUDENTS AGED 10 TO 15 YEARS
We are looking for capable and enthusiastic teachers who are interested in working with children and have recognised qualifications in TEFL/TESOL for posts starting in June/July and finishing in August. There are 5 levels of proficiency in each age group. Staff may teach between 20 to 30 forty-five minute lessons per week with the emphasis on spoken English, although written homework may be set. Teaching in the classroom will be for 5 days per week, Monday to Friday and all staff participate in a full-day coach excursion on Saturdays. The basic weekly salary is from £313.00 and lunch is included.
Both the Adult and Young Learner Courses are based in Bournemouth and while accommodation is not offered, information can be obtained for local self-catering facilities at approximately £70.00 per week.
ENGLISH SPECIALIST LANGUAGE TEACHERS
are required to teach English language to non-native speakers for various specialised areas including Oil and Gas, Maritime Studies, Aircraft Engineering, Legal Practice, Medical Practice, Business and Finance.
