Helena

Helena Weir: I have recently joined Anglo-Continental as a Digital Marketeer and have received a very warm welcome!

As well as being the new author of this newsletter, I will be developing
Anglo-Continental's online presence through social media, website optimisation and marketing. I will also be involved in the production of artwork and promotional materials such as posters, flyers and banners, for the Marketing Department to use during their trips abroad, at shows and with representatives.

I have had a varied career and my background includes marketing, design and event organisation amongst other things. I have worked in different industries from banking and insurance to marketing for a firm of solicitors. I attended Kingston University where I completed a BA Hons degree in Business Management, specialising in Marketing.

I am very excited about working within Anglo-Continental and look forward to what the year holds!

Charity success for 2011 and a NEW charity for 2012

Julia's House

Each year Anglo-Continental nominates a charity to support. During 2011, £1,138.39 was raised for "Coping with Chaos", a parent-run organisation that supports families caring for a child/children or young person with a disability or special educational need, living in Dorset.

In 2012, Anglo-Continental will support another local charity, Julia's House. Julia's House aims to maximise and enrich the quality of life for Dorset children and young people with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions. They provide support for the whole family, offering multi-disciplinary end of life care in their hospice building or in the family home.

Anglo-Continental will be undertaking a variety of fundraising events to support Julia's House throughout the year. We will keep you posted with updates throughout the year.

Don't forget UK clocks change in March!

Clock

If you are in the UK, remember the clocks go forward by one hour on Sunday 25th March 2012, officially the start of British Summer Time. We may be losing an hour but with extra daylight in the evenings and a long summer ahead, there’s
plenty to look forward to after the clocks change.
