Course T-1.20
The core of the language and methodology course consists of 20 lessons per week of language
teaching methodology and personal language development. In this course, participants will
experience and explore lively and creative teaching strategies and teaching aids, gaining ideas
to refresh their own teaching and developing their own language proficiency. Contexts for
language development work will reflect the interests of the group and will include aspects of
British life and culture.
Course T-1.30
In addition to the core 20 lessons per week, participants on this course will have an additional 10 afternoon lessons of preparation and practice for the Cambridge University Teaching
Knowledge Test (TKT) modules 1, 2 and 3. Participants can enrol for all or just one of the
modules and the afternoon sessions will provide them with the opportunity to work through
material and sample test exercises appropriate to them. These lessons include feedback and
guidance from the trainer.
• Module 1 – Language and background to language learning and teaching
• Module 2 – Planning lessons and use of resources for language teaching
• Module 3 – Managing the teaching and learning process
Course T–2.30
Alternatively, teachers who teach other subjects through English can choose to follow 10
afternoon lessons designed to prepare them for the Cambridge University TKT CLIL module
(Content and Integrated Learning). This course aims to give participants greater awareness of the
main theories and approaches of CLIL and to encourage analysis of sample activities for the
usefulness or adaptability to their own teaching contexts. The 10 lessons also provide
participants with the opportunity to work through typical test activities, followed by feedback and
guidance from the trainer.
