Young Learners Car Transfer Charges

Car TransferThe car transfer services operate daily for arrivals and departures throughout the year.

Reservation and confirmation
of flight details required no later than 7 days in advance. Late notification may result in you having to make your own transfer arrangements.

Charges for transfers from other points of arrival are available on request.

The charges quoted are per car, whether it is used by 1 or 2 passengers.  If either passenger fails to arrive, the full charge remains payable.  If 2 passengers are sharing a car, they must arrive and depart on the same flight.

Fuel Surcharge
If a transport company levies a surcharge because of an increase in the price of fuel, the additional cost will be charged to you.

10 June to 19 August 2012 to Bournemouth, and from 10 June to 2 September 2012 from Bournemouth.

 

 

From London Heathrow Airport (LHR) Only
Arriving at Terminals 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5.

On Arrival: Our coaches depart from London Heathrow Airport (LHR) to Bournemouth at regular intervals between 08.00 and 20.00 hours. Depending on the time your son/daughter enters the Arrivals Hall, they may have to wait up to 3 hours for the next coach departure. During the waiting time they will be supervised.
On Departure: Our coaches depart from Anglo-Continental, Bournemouth to London Heathrow Airport (LHR) at regular intervals between 05.00 and 16.00 hours. Your son/daughter should allow 5 hours for travel, check-in and security procedures. For flights departing before 10.00 hours or after 21.00 hours, an Anglo-Continental car transfer should be reserved.
Journey Time: 2 hours to 2½ hours
If your son/daughter (under 16 years of age) is travelling alone, we advise you to check with the airline for rules and regulations regarding this. You will be responsible for any unaccompanied child airline service charges.

Travel Information
The flight details and time and place of arrival must be provided not less than 7 days before the Sunday of course commencement, and reconfirmed to us in the event of any change. For this purpose, we require you to complete and return the Declaration form, stating:
- name and address
- student reference number
- date of arrival
- time of arrival
- flight number
- airline
- airport of departure
- airport of arrival
- details of connecting flight if applicable

With the confirmation of enrolment you will receive Anglo-Continental luggage labels.
It is essential that these are placed on each item of luggage for identification and recognition by our staff.

Reception at the Airport
All students who have reserved Anglo-Continental transfers, and for whom travel details have been received, are met by our staff in the ‘Arrivals Area’ immediately outside the Customs Hall. For London Heathrow Terminal 5, our Representative will meet your son/daughter in front of the “COSTA” sign. They will be escorted by special Anglo-Continental transport to their homestay accommodation. To identify our staff, your son/daughter should look for the sign:

If your son/daughter does not arrive on the flight specified, or is delayed and therefore fails to meet our staff, he/she should look in the airport ‘Arrivals Area’ for the sign:

Information


The staff at the ‘Information Desk’, who speak most languages, will locate our member of staff. Please note, in London Heathrow Terminal 5 our Representative will be waiting in front of the “COSTA” sign. Alternatively, your son/daughter should call the emergency telephone number given on the school confirmation letter.

Luggage Identification
With the confirmation of enrolment you will receive Anglo-Continental luggage labels.
It is essential that these are placed on each item of luggage for identification and
recognition by our staff.

Luggage allowance - airlines
Please note that airlines apply different luggage restrictions (i.e. size, weight, contents and number of items). We advise you to check with the airline before your son/daughter travels.

Luggage allowance - car and coach transfers
Your son/daughter’s free allowance is one piece of luggage of a standard size and
shape weighing not more than 23kg, plus one item of hand luggage of not more than 10kg. If your son/daughter’s luggage does not conform with the above, it is important that you advise us well in advance or you may find that the excess luggage cannot travel with your son/daughter and you may incur additional costs.

Payment
Payment for transfers must be made before the date of provision of the service. Any
additional charges (e.g. delayed arrival) must be paid immediately on arrival at the school.

Cancellation
Notice of cancellation or change of a transfer must be received by the school before 12.00 hours (British Time) on the Wednesday prior to the scheduled day of arrival or departure. If such notice is not received within the period stipulated, we incur obligations to the transport companies and therefore the full charge is due.

Liability and insurance
We cannot accept responsibility for any delay in scheduled services, or if any service
cannot be provided as specified, or for any loss, damage or injury to students or their
property during travel. We strongly advise you to take out personal insurance to cover
your son/daughter against these risks.

Emergency contact
In the case of an emergency during your son/daughter’s journey, please contact the
emergency telephone number stated on the confirmation letter.
