Anglo-Continental is an independent IELTS Test Centre, working in collaboration with the British Council, Cambridge, and IDP, the official owners of the IELTS test.  We provide a secure, professional environment for candidates taking the IELTS Academic or General Training test on computer.  The test centre is located on the South Coast of England in Bournemouth.

Registration Procedure

Read through all the information, online information is available. Complete the online registration.  You will need make the test fee payment online or pay in cash within 3 days of registering or your registration will be cancelled.  Make sure you enter the number of your identity document (your passport or BRP) and upload a clear colour photocopy or scanned copy of your identity document (or attach to the paper application form).  The identity document must be valid at the time of registration and the same ID document must be presented on the day of the test

You can book online with us by selecting the “Book Your IELTS Exam” link below and follow the instructions or you can complete a paper application form and submit to us at the address below.  If you have any issues uploading your ID document, please contact us at our IELTS email address.

Register your Recognising Organisation on the Test Taker Portal when you book your test.

You will receive an automated confirmation of the date and time of the test you booked.

On the test day, your identity will be checked on the day of the test and before the Speaking test. You must present the same identity document that you used when you registered for the test.  Your photograph will be taken as an additional security measure, and it will appear on your IELTS Test Report Form. In addition a finger scan will be taken.

You select your Speaking Test on the same test date, at the time of booking your test.

What you need to book a test

1. A valid identification document
Have a form of valid ID (Passport) at hand, as you will need to upload a clear copy of it when you book your test.  Your ID must be valid at the time of booking and on the test day.  If you are under 18, your parents will also need to complete the consent form online. IELTS is not recommended for anyone under 16.

2. A form of payment, such as a bank card, to pay for your test
Payment methods are bank transfer, flywire for non-UK bank accounts, Paypal, or cash at our address below.  When you register for your IELTS test options will be available on the Test Taker Portal.

Payments are not automatically registered on your Test Taker Portal.  We have to confirm and process the payment first:
– If the payment is made Monday – Friday between 09.00 – 15.00 hours it is likely to be processed by our staff that day.
– If the payment is made after 15.00 hours Monday – Thursday, it will be processed by our staff the following day.
– If payment is made after 15.00 hours on Friday, or on a Saturday or Sunday, it will be processed on Monday.
– If payment is made on a bank/public holiday, it will be processed the next working day.

• Confirmation for the Speaking Test date.

Results for the IELTS on computer are issued up to 5 days after the test day.

Recognising Organisations & Results validity period

Register your Recognising Organisation on the Test Taker Portal when you book your test.

Please check the type of IELTS test you require before booking.  We suggest you check with the Recognising Organisation you need your IELTS test for, i.e. IELTS Academic or General, IELTS UKVI or Organisations will not usually accept a Test Report Form that is more than two years old unless you provide evidence that you have actively maintained or tried to improve your English since taking the test. The IELTS Test Partners cannot confirm the validity of test results that are more than two years old.

Enquiries on results

If you are unhappy with your test result, you can apply for a re-mark (Enquiry on Results) at the centre where you took the test.  You must make the application no later than six weeks after the test date. You can choose which test components are re-marked.  There is a fee for this service which will be refunded if your score on any component is increased. Enquiries on Results take six to eight weeks to complete.

The Test Report Form

You will receive an electronic Test Report Form for computer-based tests through the Test Taker Portal and a paper Test Report Form which reports a score for each of the four skills (listening, reading, writing and speaking), as well as an overall band score.  Half band scores may be awarded to indicate a strong performance within a particular band.  You can find more information on score processing and score interpretation at www.ielts.org/criteria.  Results will be available up to 5 days after the computer test.  We will email you to let you know to collect your paper Test Results Form from our Student Services.

Test centres are not permitted to give results out over the phone or by scan or email.  You will receive only one copy of the Test Report Form.  It is important that you keep it safe as replacement Test Report Forms cannot be issued.   Test centres will send copies of your Test Report Form to up to five organisations free of charge, please register these on your Test Taker Portal.
