Anglo-Continental Covid Policy

Here are some answers to your questions about Anglo-Continental’s approach to keeping its students, staff and visitors safe.

Is the school open for face-to-face classes?

Yes, Anglo-Continental is open for face-to-face classes.

Will I need to quarantine and have a PCR test on arrival in England?

You do not need to take any COVID-19 tests or quarantine on arrival in England, irrespective of your vaccination status.  There is also no need to complete a Passenger Locator form.

For the latest information, visit the government website:
https://www.gov.uk/guidance/travel-to-england-from-another-country-during-coronavirus-covid-19

What is the school’s current Covid policy?

As the school gets busier it is important that all staff and students are aware of Anglo-Continental’s policy on COVID-19.  Throughout the pandemic we have adhered strictly to government policy and during periods put in our own even stricter procedures.  We are still following government advice and ask that staff and students also do so.  Full guidance  can be found here https://www.gov.uk/guidance/people-with-symptoms-of-a-respiratory-infection-including-covid-19

Please be aware that there is no requirement to wear masks in public spaces although we do have masks available and encourage their use.  There is also no legal requirement to isolate after a positive test result.  We do ask that should any staff member or student test positive, they remain away from the school for a period of five days after which they may return to school providing all symptoms have gone.

Children and young people (aged 18 years and under) who have symptoms of a respiratory infection, including COVID-19

Respiratory infections are common in children and young people, particularly during the winter months.  Symptoms can be caused by several respiratory infections including the common cold, COVID-19 and RSV.

For most children and young people, these illnesses will not be serious, and they will soon recover following rest and plenty of fluids.  Very few children and young people with respiratory infections become seriously unwell.  This is also true for children and young people with long-term conditions.

Attending education is hugely important for children and young people’s health and their future.

When children and young people with symptoms should stay at home and when they can return to education

Children and young people with mild symptoms such as a runny nose, sore throat, or slight cough, who are otherwise well, can continue to attend their education setting.

Children and young people who are unwell and have a high temperature should stay at home and avoid contact with other people, where they can.  They can go back to school, college or childcare, and resume normal activities when they no longer have a high temperature and they are well enough to attend.

All children and young people with respiratory symptoms should be encouraged to cover their mouth and nose with a disposable tissue when coughing and/or sneezing and to wash their hands after using or disposing of tissues.

Anglo-Continental has a stock of masks, COVID tests and hand-sanitiser available so please ask at Reception should you require any.  Please be assured we are constantly monitoring the situation and the health and safety of our students and staff is a priority.
