Anglo-Continental’s online Group lessons are the perfect solution for distance learning at an affordable price.  Online English tuition offers a convenient and effective way for clients to improve their English quickly and efficiently. Students are taught by Anglo-Continental’s team of qualified and experienced teachers and we use approved, professional teaching materials.

Our General English option starts every Monday with classes from elementary to advanced (A1+ – C1).

The English for IELTS lessons start every two weeks. Students must have a good intermediate (B1) level of English to participate in this course.

Internship at a school in Switzerland

Duration: 6 – 12 months (preferably 12 months).
Tasks: Assistance in the classroom, help students with their work/homework and teach some classes (all in English, of course).
Accommodation: With a local family, private room and full board.
Salary: CHF 1400 gross per month (approx. £ 1060 minus insurance and tax. Net: £ 900).
The intern has the opportunity to learn German during his/her stay and attend German classes.

Introduction to Aviation English

This course is intended for people with limited knowledge of aviation, who are aiming to start their training for a career as a pilot or air traffic controller. 

This special programme gives them an insight into the world of aviation and an understanding of some of its terminology, whilst improving their general English language at the same time.

The course provides a useful combination of intensive general English and aviation English tuition:

The intensive programme, adopting an integrated skills approach, focuses on general English language development. The specialised component of the course concentrates on extending the trainee’s aviation English vocabulary, whilst also improving the receptive and productive language skills, using a range of topic areas within the context of aviation.

GENERAL ENGLISH LANGUAGE TUITION

The general English component concentrates on structure and usage, oral communication, vocabulary development and listening and reading comprehension.

AVIATION ENGLISH LANGUAGE TUITION

The specialised component of the course concentrates on extending the trainee’s aviation English vocabulary, whilst also improving the receptive and productive language skills, using a range of topic areas within the context of Aviation.

  • Aircraft – types, structure and maintenance
  • Airport – areas, layouts, equipment and planning
  • Phases of flight – pushback, take-off en route and landing
  • Language of flying – communication in the air and on the ground
  • Theory of flight
  • Meteorology
  • Navigation
  • Emergency situations

CERTIFICATE OF TRAINING

Trainees will receive an Anglo-Continental Certificate of Studies at the end of their course (subject to satisfactory course completion)

General English – 20 lessons per week




Language and Methodology of English Teaching Course Plus TKT Examination Practice

In addition to the core 20 lessons per week, participants on this course will have 5 additional lessons of preparation and practice for the Cambridge University Teaching Knowledge Test (TKT) modules 1, 2 and 3. Participants can enrol for all or just one of the modules and the additional sessions will provide them with the opportunity to work through material and sample test exercises appropriate to them. These lessons include feedback and guidance from the trainer.

  • Module 1 – Language and background to language learning and teaching
  • Module 2 – Planning lessons and use of resources for language teaching
  • Module 3 – Managing the teaching and learning process
  • Review of all modules and exam preparation

Language and Methodology of English Teaching Course

The core of the language and methodology course consists of 20 lessons per week of language teaching methodology and personal language development. In this course, participants will experience and explore lively and creative teaching strategies and teaching aids, gaining ideas to refresh their own teaching and developing their own language proficiency. Contexts for language development work will reflect the interests of the group and will include aspects of British life and culture.

Full-Time CELTA Course

The full-time course lasts for 4 weeks and consists of 120 hours of instruction, observation and teaching practice programmed between 0830 and 1700 hours, Monday to Friday, and up to 60 hours of home study, lesson planning and assignment writing. All participants will also be required to observe 6 hours of lessons at Anglo-Continental.

Your tutors will use a variety of methods and techniques.  You will have input from your tutors in the mornings and you will teach, observed by your tutor, in the afternoons.  You will also have the opportunity to observe the lessons of practising, professional teachers.

You should be at least 18 years old at the start of the course and have a level of education that would allow you to enter higher education.
